Craft by Residency
An immersive showcase for London Craft Week by Future Icons – October 2021
Sharing a passion for quality craftsmanship, Residency proudly played home to a host of talented makers during London Craft Week 2021. Curated by Louisa Pacifico. the pop-up presented an exhibition debut from marbling artist and designer NAT MAKS, as well as a selection of design and craft-led brands represented by Future Icons.
Designed with versatility in mind, each maker was able to present their product in line with their unique needs. NAT MAKS, founded by Natascha Maksimovic, unveiled her new marble tapestry made from wallpaper off-cuts. Future Icons, founded by Lousia Pacifico, presented the works of 13 of its makers, spanning a range of disciplines from ceramics to embroidery, to intricate metal and enamel projects to a range of textile and leather-based artworks.
Created as a showcase to celebrate the technical skill and technique as much as the finished product, makers took turns to show their craft in a series of live demos by the entrance. An opportunity to connect and meet buyers, the makers hosted a buzzing private view, which welcomed media and industry alike.
