100 Days of Gratitude

Pop-up gallery for online illustration project by Justyna Green – September 2021

London-based Illustrator Justyna Green presented the highly publicised ‘100 Days of Gratitude’ at Residency Islington Square during London Design Festival 2021. The project saw 100 people from the design community share what they are most grateful for in light of the pandemic, which Justyna brought to life through a series of 100 colourful portraits.

Among the participants were creatives from Anyways Creative, Google, WIRED, Time Out, Cockpit Arts, Handsome Frank, Dezeen, WePresent, Studio PI, Buzzfeed, ANNA Money, as well as independent artists, creative directors, designers, musicians and curators. Submissions came from across the world; from London to LA, Antwerp to Mumbai.

The project was born from the idea that even in the toughest life situations, there’s always something to be grateful for. “I wanted this project to put a smile on people's faces, to ease their sorrows and create moments of grateful reflection. We’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the pandemic and I wanted to support creatives who—like everyone else—have been under pressure and subjected to prolonged periods of uncertainty. With lockdown easing, it felt like the right time to amplify feelings of hope and positivity now that the worst seems to be behind us” says Green.

Justyna hosted an opening party coinciding with Islington Square’s London Design Festival activities, which was attended by a host of designers and media.
